Curator, archaeologist and expert in Maya iconography, Oswaldo Chinchilla will explain the intricacies of the ancient Maya culture, from pre Classic to post Classic periods. The tour will include a visit to the museum’s storage area to see the complete collection of magnificent funerary urns. Dr. Chinchilla will also describe the ancient non Maya culture from Guatemala’s Pacific coast. The findings from his excavations there were featured in 2003 in the National Geographic Magazine.
